The purpose of this research is to determine the role of Instagram
as a promotional medium in increasing public interest in visiting
the Bank Indonesia Museum and to identify the challenges faced
by the Bank Indonesia Museum in increasing visitor interest. The
research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological
approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through
observation, literature study, documentation, and interviews. The
results of this study indicate that the Bank Indonesia Museum's
Instagram has played a role as a promotional medium, beneficial
in adding insight and knowledge through uploaded content. The
Bank Indonesia Museum's Instagram is active and can attract
public attention in delivering information. When linked to the
perspective of new media theory, Instagram can create a space
where followers can interact directly through uploaded content.
Additionally, the existence of the Bank Indonesia Museum's
Instagram can create a community with similar interests or
attractions. However, Instagram social media managers face
challenges such as cybersecurity threats and unstable engagement
numbers, have not yet convinced followers to visit, and have not
conducted quantitative surveys or specific surveys related to the
impact of social media use on the number of visits.
